hi, Mr. taver i’m reading a book call wild wonders
did you know …? that a porcupines love salt and porcupines likes to eat a ax handle why because since you sweat from the hand the ax handle soak the sweat and that’s why they eat ax handle
Jan 20, 2012 @ 16:23:14
Oh, lordy, I need to keep porcupines away from me when I’m working outside on weekends and in the summer. They might eat me all up! Tell me more about these animals. Don’t forget to try and make a connection…like what other animal likes salt so much (or, if someone in your family likes a lot of salt, that’s a connection, too).
Jan 19, 2012 @ 12:30:01
I was reading bigfoot there was a connection. I was waching finding bigfoot and there were these people who bileved bigfoot was real. They had these people come in the bilding and had toll them have you ever saw a bigfoot. Almost everybody had there hand up.There was this guy who said he was riding his bike when this 10.ft bigfoot had came tords him.The guy started to ride his bike away.
Jan 20, 2012 @ 16:21:26
I think I would have ridden my bike away, too. The strongest evidence for bigfoot comes not from people saying they saw it but from physical evidence…hair, footprints, scat, etc. I like your text to world connection. I need more information from the book, though.

hey mr. tarver its meikh i am reading a book called jellaby monster in the city and these two kids have found a monster and its cool.
Jan 20, 2012 @ 16:19:18
That’s it? They found a monster and it’s cool? I will need a whole lot more than just that.
Jan 19, 2012 @ 13:08:14

Jan 20, 2012 @ 16:18:43
I can see why! I don’t know how to catch lizards exactly, but I do know how to catch grasshoppers. Put your hand in front of them. They can only move or hop forwards. See! I may a text to self connection! Hooray me!
Jan 25, 2012 @ 12:24:42
COOL!!! i havent learned to catch any
Jan 25, 2012 @ 16:26:20
I bet there are numerous articles online that can help you catch a lizard. They shouldn’t bite, but be sure to wear gloves anyway…most have very sharp claws on their toes.
Jan 19, 2012 @ 13:21:47
hey mr.tarver its meikh again about what you said about my last comment well they became friends because they put aside their differences and just became friends.
Jan 20, 2012 @ 16:17:36
Is it really that easy? To just decide to be friends even if you don’t agree on everything? Is this something you could try when you have differences with a friend? Hopefully, we can avoid massive worldwide destruction first…:)

Hi! Mr. tarver today i pick out a book called lousia the life of louisa alcott by yona zeldis mcdonough i think this is a biography book. For right now I been reading this book i think is very intresting. For rigth now i learend that louisa was poor she tried selling dress for dolls but she had to chase after the chikens to make fancy dress. One time she grew and her shoes could not fit her her mom and dad gave her a pencil case. She was the one that filled her journal the mos when she wanted a new one but she dint asked because she knew that they dint have enough money. one time she got lost in boston it was very dark outside she did not cry.
Jan 20, 2012 @ 16:16:31
I read that book, too. Her and her family were abolitionists. That means they thought slavery was wrong and wanted to end it. She helped in the Civil War as a nurse. She’s a fascinating historical figure and, you’re right, it is a biography. Are there any other historical figures you think would be the same as her?
Jan 19, 2012 @ 13:29:54
I was reading a book called plants that bite back.it about insect eating plants like the venis flytrap.it bites bugs that get inside its jaws.the reason why insects go in its jaws is because it have sweet necter inside the jaws.its also about plants that have poison or spikes. sometimes docters use poisonous plants to make medicines.its the same thing with poisonous cobras, vipers, and snakes.the poisonous foxglove plant can stop the heart from beating in less than half an hour. but people are now using the foxglove plant to treat some heart disorders.the sangero cactus has spikes that haves hooks on the end so that means if you got poked by it,that means the spike is still hooked on your skin.the sangero cactus can be 5 stores tall in 150 years.

Sounds interesting. Are you thinking of being a research doctor? We need those. I would be proud to be the 5th grade teacher of the doctor that cured horrible diseases…(I’m talking about you!)

Great summary! You have obviously understood this book. I also need some connections (like…this reminds me of…). Also, try to read other books. I can’t wait for you to get the Hunger Games!

Jan 20, 2012 @ 16:26:39
I remember anthony “penny” hardaway. He was a great player. Too bad he hurt his knee. He never was the same afterward.
Do you think hardaway was scared? I think so. These famous people are not really that different from you or I. They are scared in bad neighborhoods, too. How else do you think you are similar? Or someone else you know? Or from another book?
Jan 27, 2012 @ 12:28:20
my friend tre he lived in apartments he got robbed and there was a lot of gangs. so he had to come live with me or some times his other friends because he was poor then he whent to go live with his grandma he diddent like it in his old nehborhood.
Jan 30, 2012 @ 17:09:21
I understand. My mom had to live with a lot of different relatives when she was growing up. Sounds like tre lives in the ‘hood. I know you all roll your eyes when I talk about growing up in the hood, but it is a true story, I promise. Gangs, poverty, and (worst of all) fear. Hard to keep your mind on school with all that going on.
Jan 25, 2012 @ 12:31:15
because she was never important before this and i know because she had assign steve to early american quilting history, and she set an alarm at the library steve goes to and he checked it out. then the alarm she set called detectives that were after the book. then he hid from the detectives and after he got out the library he was captured . so when he got out of the trap he was in he went to the police department to tell them he had been kidnapped so the police thought he was lying and they tried to put him in jail for treason. mr.grabes was after him so were the police and his mom . but at the end he had figured it all out
Jan 25, 2012 @ 16:24:38
So…I guess you liked the book? Next time, please include your thoughts/feelings when posting.
I appreciate your summaries.
Feb 06, 2012 @ 12:35:47
ok. but i have a text to self because when i was in second grade i found out that my teacher worked at tallys (resteraunt in oklahoma) but thats not exactly like a strange case of mistaken identity. and to tell you the truth that was really crazy
Feb 07, 2012 @ 08:22:21
It’s always a shock for students to realize their teachers have a life outside of the classroom. I might see a connection at the dinner table, where he eats dinner with his mom and the man his mom is dating. That can be awkward.
Feb 14, 2012 @ 11:45:17
yea well thanks for anwsering my post
